In the language of the Hopis—the ancestral people that once inhabited the central area of the United States—the word “Koyaanisqatsi” means “Life Out of Balance.” Filmmaker Godfrey Reggio used it in 1982 as the title to the first of an experimental film trilogy documenting—with Philip Glass’s suggestive music and no dialogue at all—the loss of balance in this “world we live in,” (…)

Curated by Aluna Curatorial Collective (Adriana Herrera and Willy Castellanos), the exhibition will feature invited artist Chema Madoz, and will recover historic works by Hexágono: Equipo de Creación Colectiva (Havana, 1982-1985), integrated by Consuelo Castañeda, Humberto Castro, Sebastián Elizondo, Abigail García, María Elena Morera and Tonel. Rogelio López Marín, “Gory”: Notes for a Retrospective (1975-2015)

In Viviana Zargón´s artworks the borders are changeable and the viewer confuses the lines between fiction and reality, and between photography and painting, even if there are signs that warn of mimetic illusion that leads us to question the act of representation and its subjective social crossings.
